1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of HopConvert ("the Service"), operated from hopconvert.com. By using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Because the Service is free and requires no registration, using it constitutes acceptance of these Terms by the act of visiting the site. There is no account to sign up for and no checkbox to tick.

2. The service

HopConvert provides browser-based tools that convert data between JSON, CSV, XML, and YAML formats, along with explanatory guides. All processing happens client-side, in JavaScript running in your browser.

The Service is provided free of charge. There are no paid tiers, no feature gates, no usage quotas, and no account system. We may add, change, or remove converters and features at any time without notice.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to process content you have no right to process
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its hosting, or any connected system
• Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service, including through automated requests, scraping at a rate that degrades availability, or denial-of-service activity
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with advertising, or attempt to click your own ads
• Redistribute the Service as your own product, or present it as a mirror or clone of HopConvert without written permission
• Use the Service to distribute malware or to process content that infringes intellectual property rights

4. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any conversion will be accurate, complete, or fit for your specific purpose. Data conversion involves judgement calls — how to flatten nested objects, how to quote fields containing delimiters, how to interpret ambiguous or malformed input. Always verify the output before relying on it for anything important.

We also do not warrant that the Service will be compatible with every browser, device, or operating system, or that it will continue to be available at the same URL.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HopConvert and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

This includes damage caused by:

• Corrupted, lost, or altered files, including files you downloaded from the Service
• Incorrect conversion output that you relied on without verification
• Service unavailability or interruption
• Malicious advertisements or the content of third-party sites you reach via ads or links

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

6. Your data and files

You retain all rights to the files and data you convert. HopConvert claims no ownership of your content and never receives it — see the Privacy Policy for how local processing works.

You are solely responsible for the legality of the files you process and for ensuring you have the right to process them. If you convert sensitive personal, financial, or health data, do so with appropriate care — the Service protects it in transit and at rest on your own device, but your device's security is your responsibility.

7. Intellectual property

The HopConvert name, logo, site design, written content, guides, and conversion logic are owned by HopConvert and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view, use, and share the Service for personal and commercial purposes.

You may not copy the guides or substantial portions of the site's content for republication, attempt to remove attribution, or use our branding to imply endorsement of your own product. A plain-text link to any page on the Service is always welcome.

8. Advertising

The Service displays third-party advertising, currently provided by Google AdSense. By using the Service you accept that advertising will be shown and that you may encounter content from advertisers who are not affiliated with HopConvert.

We do not endorse advertised products or services and are not responsible for advertiser content or advertiser sites. Your dealings with advertisers are between you and them. You can control personalised advertising as described in section 4 of the Privacy Policy.

9. Third-party links and resources

The Service may link to, or load resources from, third-party sites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. Following an external link is at your own risk.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by publishing an updated version at this URL and updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time; there is nothing to cancel and no account to close. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction, and you consent to its exclusive jurisdiction and venue.
